Guide to Measuring your Bracelet Size

Finding the perfect bracelet isn’t just about style - it’s about fit, comfort, and how it feels when worn. Whether you're gifting a meaningful piece for a milestone moment or treating yourself to something special, knowing how to measure bracelet size ensures that the jewellery sits just right and looks its best. In this guide, we’ll walk you through simple ways to measure your wrist and choose the ideal bracelet size, so every piece you wear feels as good as it looks.

Wrap a measuring tape around the wrist and measure the length.

Alternatively, use a strip of paper, or string, or floss, to wrap around the wrist, make a mark on where the ends meet, and measure against a ruler.

Add approximately 1-3cm of allowance, depending on your preference, for a more fitting or looser fit.

Beaded bracelets' sizing is similar to normal bracelets. It is important to remember that most retailers provide bracelet lengths, not wrist size. This means that most people would probably have to size up a little more compared to normal bracelets, as you have to take into account the beads taking up space.

The best way to measure and select your bangle size online would be to measure against an existing bangle that fits. An alternative would be to use the bracelet measurement and add allowance accordingly to the bangle type, for example, whether the bangle is able to be opened, or if it must be worn over the knuckles.

Our bangle sizes online are listed as diameter in centimeters (cm). Adult sizes are typically from 5.0cm to 6.0cm, while we have children's sizes at 4.5cm for selected designs.

Approximate size conversion:

4.5cm Diameter = 14.1cm Circumference

5cm Diameter = 15.7cm Circumference

5.5cm Diameter = 17.2cm Circumference

6cm Diameter = 18.8cm Circumference

Extra sizing tips

Be mindful of seasonal or temperature changes. Wrist sizes can fluctuate slightly when the temperature changes – expand when warm and shrink in cold temperatures. Although the changes are usually not significant, it is good to be mindful and account for a slight buffer for such potential changes.

In addition, it is good to look for retailers that are flexible with resizing or exchanges, especially if you are buying online. Some retailers like Arthesdam Jewellery have their own workshops with professional craftsmen who can help with resizing if needed.
