What is Akshaya Tritiya? 

It is a festival that is one of the most auspicious days for Hindus. Akshaya Tritiya is a Sanskrit word, where 'Akshaya' stands for 'eternal, the never diminishing sense of happiness, success, and joy' and 'Tritiya' stands for 'third'. This year 2023, Akshaya Tritiya falls on 22 April, Saturday.

Akshaya Tritiya is considered one of the most auspicious festivals since it is the day of manifold blessings. Any initiative made on, or anything bought on that day is good fortune. It is believed that a person who performs auspicious deeds like charity work, donations, etc. on Akshay Tritiya attains fruitful outcomes in life. 

Many people purchase gold on Akshaya Tritiya as it is believed that buying gold on this day brings more prosperity and wealth for the future. It is believed that gold bought on this day will never diminish and would in fact continue to grow. Buying gold on this day is also believed that to bring prosperity and happiness in a person’s life.
